    • The following presentation talks about the general aspects of public speaking like the types, the contexts, and the spheres of communication. It helps learners to grasp what it means by speaking in public.

    • What is your greatest problem when speaking in public?

    • Have a say about the greatest you experienced when speaking in front of public.

Write your story here and share at least ONE tips to overcome that fear. Then give comments to your friend's story and tips. You can say "I have the same story" or "That happens to me to" or for the tips, you can say "That tips works very well" or simply agreeing "I second that".

My own fear for example is to mispronounce words that I say.

What I usually do to overcome that fear is by rehearsing before I speak before public. But sometimes we can't do that like when we have to deliver an improptu speech. It's also good to check the pronunciation of some key words or terms that we are going to use.

  • This topic trains you to prepare and deliver news broadcast and report. There are certain stages and structures to understand before embarking on the journey of preparing yourself to roleplay the profession of news presenter and reporter.

    • Listen to the audio recording of two news items (news report and news broadcast) and then answer the following questions (worksheet 1) enclosed below.

    • In news broadcast, you've learned that you need to gather or find news before scripting and finally presenting news.

In news gathering, you need to look for facts, NOT opinions. Thus it's important that you can tell facts and opinions apart.

Watch a video on Facts vs. Opinions. Complete the table of Facts vs. Opinions on comparison between facts and opinions. Then work on the worksheet 2 (enclosed below).

  • As part of public speaking skills, being able to present a product helps you describe things or ideas you want to share with other people and persuade them to have, do or think the same as you do. Products being presented can be commercial products or services that you have or you have experienced.

    • Read these presentation slides and do the tasks mentioned in the PPT. Scroll down to do the tasks in different features of Be-Smart.

      Enjoy.

    • You may have now wondered how to organize your product presentation. Read the following file to see suggested structures of presenting a product or service (object or idea).

    • The audio file is for Task 1.

Listen to a marketing expert explain about the different types of advertising. Complete the information on the table. Submit your work online.

    • Look at the diagram in PPT slides and watch the video 1 that illustrate the structure of promotional video.

Write how the promotional video is structured based on the diagram?

    • Hi everyone,

I know you have finished performing your product presentation. How was it going?

What was the hardest part in presenting a product?

What makes a product easily marketable?

      Please share your opinions here.

      Thanks.
