    • There are many materials in nature that can be used to yield products through a fermentation process. Materials that have been widely used include fruits. Fruit waste can also be used for fermentation materials. Requirements for the material to be used as a fermentation medium are to contain a source of carbon, protein, nitrogen, minerals, and vitamins that are used for the growth of product-producing microorganisms.
