Introduction to Linguistics_Siti Mahripah

This course is to give knowledge about language and certain languages, and the ability to analyze language structure based on various views of language. Topics include linguistics as scientific study of language, characteristics of language, phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, sociolinguistics, pragmatics, psycho­linguistics, Transfor­mational Grammar, and Functional Grammar. The assessment is based on the students’ parti­cipation in classroom presentations and discussions, assign­ments, mid semester and final semester examinations.
